3D character creation for Enviaflores.com
Industry: Online flowers & gifts shop, e-commerce

The opportunity
For one of the biggest Mexican e-commerce companies (EnviaFlores.com) we created at CYO their 3D main character: Florentino. We were asked to develop a realistic teddy bear that will become an icon for the brand. First it will be introduced into the market through spectacular ads all around Mexico, public buses, social media, and directly through their website. After that, the real-life bear would be sold as part of their catalogue. And among other scalable uses, the female character (his partner) would be asked to be developed.

My role
Creative director and designer, modeling, XGen interactive grooming, rigging, posing, and lighting the character.

Team
Agueda Moore (EnviaFlores.com Product Innovation Manager), Lucy Ramírez (EnviaFlores.com Senior Graphic Designer), Angela Isla (EnviaFlores.com Marketing).

Key contributions
/ Conceptualized visual direction for the character's main features.
/ Created sketches for concept validation before entering to modeling stage.
/ Developed 3D model using the sketches previously validated, including the body, apron and the logo pin.
/ Generated and detailed the character's fur with XGen Interactive Groom
/ Rigged the character for further poses
/ Generated the appropriate light set according to the real photography set of the company for the character to match the photographed products that would be further edited with the character's renders.
/ Rendered the different poses required by the client.

Outcome
One of the most successful projects at EnviaFlores.com, strongly liked and approved by the company's CEO.
Printed and distributed throughout the 3 most important Mexican cities (CDMX, Monterrey, and Guadalajara).
